The Institute is recognised by the AICTE, New Delhi and the courses offered are affiliated to the Mahamaya Technical University (formerly Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow) and the Board of Technical Education-Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow.
The institute is spread over 42 acres of land with lush green lawns and aesthetically planned landscapes. JP Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology was established in 1998, is located at 5 km stone on Meerut Mawana Road and 65 kms, from Delhi and is easily accessible by rail and road. The campus maintains it exclusiveness and friendly environment, providing a heaven for ideal teaching-learning process.

It is a vital part of tourism industry providing business and leisure accommodation with food and beverage facilities to guests. The industry has grown Steadily and is now one of the biggest industries in the country and one of the largest employers of manpower. It is this industry,that reflects the eating habits, history, customs, taboos of society, creates and develop them.
The hotel and catering industry is a rich field that is waiting to be harvested. To live up to the trends of this upcoming industry. JP INSTITUTE OF HOTEL MANAGEMENT & CATERING TECHNOLOGY, MEERUT was established which believes that "the professional management would do well to realize that there are many facets to business from which they may learn".
