About Us
(I). Introduction :----
The ancient definition of pharmacy says, it is the art and science of preparing and administering medicine still hold good and good probably do so for all times to come.
The degree in pharmacy in India was started about 60 years ago with aim to cater manpower for growing pharmaceutical industry in India and for the effective implementation of drug laws. With the vast growth of pharmaceutical industry and adaptation of modern technology in the production and standardization of drugs and formulations, demand of pharmacy graduates is increasing.
Pharmacists are employed in regulatory control and drug management, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, the pharmaceutical industry, academic activities, training of other health workers and research. In all these fields, their aim to ensure optimum drug therapy, both by contribution to the preparation, supply and control of medicines and associated products and by providing information and advise to those who prescribe or use pharmaceutical products.
The awareness of the importance of health related drugs both controlled and over the counter as well as the right use of toiletries and cosmetics has accelerated the demand of professional pharmacists. The SVCP, Jhansi is geared up to meet this need.
(II).About the College :----
The Smt. Vidyawati College of Pharmacy, Jhansi is approved by Pharmacy Council of India ( PCI) & All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE) Ministry of HRD, Govt. of India, New Delhi. It is affiliated to Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow.
The SVCP, Jhansi was initiated at the time when there is a need to have quality in pharmacy education and improvement in health care system in state of Uttar Pradesh. The Institute has constructed its own building of around 55,000 Sq. Ft. area in campus of more than seven acres of Land at the city of Jhansi.
The institute provides insight and knowledge to improve student’s personality. We provide course that is continuously improving and focused on new ideas and skills of pharmaceutical education. We help to become an excellent pharmacist, provide the conceptual knowledge through highly qualified and experienced staff, rich and updated library and practical knowledge in well equipped and furnished laboratories.
